my practice & experience
I get how complicated and diverse life can be—whether it’s dealing with tough situations, family stuff, relationships, friendships, or figuring out your personal values and beliefs. I’m in tune with the challenges of stress, anxiety, and that drive to grow, unlock your potential, and push through the things that hold you back.
I get the ups and downs that come with Neuro diversity—it’s a mix of challenges and awesome potential. For me, it’s personal since I live with Inattentive ADHD. On top of that, I have family members on the Autism Spectrum, so I’ve seen firsthand the hurdles they deal with, but also the amazing things that can happen when they embrace who they are and have the right support around them.
I am a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor based in Torquay, South Devon. My approach is all about looking at the bigger picture—things like free will, creativity, and your unique potential. I naturally lean towards a Person-Centered style, so I focus on you—what you bring to the table and how you see yourself, whether it’s on a conscious, unconscious, or intuitive level.
The most important part of therapy isn’t about following one specific theory, but about the quality of the relationship between us. It’s what makes therapy work. Counselling is all about getting support in a safe, non-judgmental space, where we can work together to explore your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. If you're open to it, we can also discover new self-awareness, which can spark real change.
I’m chatty and ask lots of questions to get different viewpoints and gain a deeper understanding. This can be really helpful when we need to focus on finding a solution. I’ll help you figure out answers and strategies that could work.
I blend my approach with ideas from different theories and philosophies like Attachment Theory, Psycho-Social Development, the Hierarchy of Needs, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Logotherapy, Existentialism, Mindfulness, and Transpersonalism. In the end, I’ll work with you to find an approach that feels right for you. contact me
I am a registered member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society and abide by their strict ethical framework
Counselling and therapy can be eye-opening and freeing. It helps us understand the affect negative thoughts, feelings, events, and relationships have. By looking at where all this comes from, we can figure out why we feel the way we do and get a better sense of our needs and how to take care of them.
Counselling and therapy can help us think and feel differently, making it easier to manage our emotions, communicate better with ourselves and others, and find a good balance between thinking and feeling. It can also help us build a stronger sense of self, live more in the present, and find more meaning and happiness in life—making it a powerful and life-changing experience. contact me
